A Humane Path Forward for Couples in Crisis
Mediation + relational coaching to help couples find clarity — together or apart.
Most couples in crisis don't set out to destroy one another. Yet once divorce becomes a legal battle, conflict often escalates, communication breaks down, and decisions are made from a place of fear, anger, or misunderstanding. The emotional and financial costs can be profound — not only for the couple, but for their children and extended family.
A Different Path
RESCET™ stands for Relational Enquiry Synthesising Cross-disciplinary Expertise for Transformation.
We combine divorce mediation with systems-informed relational coaching to help couples move beyond the conflict that brought them to us. Rather than focusing only on negotiating assets or parenting plans, we help each person better understand the patterns, perspectives, and misunderstandings that have shaped the relationship.
Lowering the emotional temperature often makes practical decisions easier and more durable.
"We do not begin with the assumption that a couple should stay together or separate. Our role is not to persuade couples toward either outcome."
Instead, we create a process that allows both people to make thoughtful decisions with greater clarity, respect, and understanding.
Both Outcomes Are Successful
For many couples, the process results in a comprehensive mediated divorce agreement — completed in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional litigation, while preserving a functional relationship for the future, particularly when children are involved.
For others, the process uncovers something unexpected. Once they genuinely understand one another and the dynamics that have kept them stuck, they realize they want to continue building their relationship together.
Both outcomes are successful because the goal of RESCET™ is not to produce a particular result. It is to help couples reach the healthiest outcome with the least emotional and financial harm.
"
We walked into a law office, a small room with a small table. Neutral artwork in foamy blues and greens.
We faced the lawyers. They had taken a thorough audit of our five years of marriage — how we met, how we argue, how we grew up.
We sat there, our stomachs twisted in knots, eyes anxiously darting around the room. They had collected all the data. They had examined all the facts.
And somehow in all of that, they saw nothing but our humanity. They held the truth of our love tenderly, witnessed the depth of our pain.
And with nothing but kind words and pure presence, they shifted us back into alignment with ourselves.

Questions
No. RESCET™ is not couples therapy. It combines divorce mediation with systems-informed relational coaching to help couples move through conflict — whether the outcome is reconciliation or separation. It does not constitute therapy and does not create an attorney–client relationship.
The healthiest outcome starts with a single conversation.
